Old Men doing stupid things.

 

One of the things I have in my life that I get a lot of enjoyment out of,  is my shiny Red Eclectic Scooter.


 Because of neuropathy in my feet and legs and degenerative discs in my back, if I am going to go any distance walking is limited for me.  The scooter is wonderful for getting me to where I need to go. 

I do have to load it on the back of my car on my scooter carrier.   Not a hard thing because of a nifty drop down ramp.  Simply just drive it up the ramp and then lock the ramp in upright place.  Easy peesy.

It is wonderfully warm in Texas these early spring days but still a little cool at times.  Yesterday was such a day.  I have a nice leather coat that really feels pretty good at times.  One of the things I like about the coat is, the big pockets.  Especially going to a Basket ball game.  I can carry my cell phone care keys and wallet easily. 


Sweat pants don’t have great pockets. So, the coat works well.  I even can get my can of Monster Drink or Rock Star in a pocket.

Now to lead the scooter…….  I lined it up for the ramp and went to get off.  No big deal, Right? 


Well the old man some how wrapped the leather coat, with me in it, around the throttle, and the steering post, with the key on.  I’m 2/3^rd off and 1/3 ^rd. on. 

The good thing about a electric scooter is they are a little slow on the uptake and not heavy. 


But they are powerful.  Up the ramp it goes…… me too …. The next thing I know,  the scooter is acting like a pencil compass scriber.  


We are drawing circles, around and round with me and the scooter in the middle.  My leather coat knotting up pinning me to this rodeo calf.  It wasn’t long before, I had it on the ground on our back…. struggling to find the key so I can get it shut off.

Being the great rodeo bulldogger, I am, I got it done.   

Problem 1, How does Cowboy Bob, get this 399-pound shiny red electric calf off the top of me?  

Problem 2, How does one said cowboy, un-knot a leather coat and now hogtied 300 lb. said Bob.

Problem 3, How does Said Bob, get up from ground after said scooter is now upright and he is not. 

Well I now know why  those motor cycle riders wear leathers.  I also remember how a child rolls over on his tummy to get up. However, here is the thing, a child doesn’t weigh as much as I do. 


Life is truly good and interesting, and Bob got it done.   The Ball game was one awesome game.  Susie and Lynn both did good.  This morning i only have a few bruises...make note, when Bob goes bull-dogging again he needs to wear his boots..
